  • 1 cup Milk Warm to around 110°F
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour Spoon and leveled
  • 1 large Egg Can substitute for additional liquid
  • 1/4 cup Butter Melted, use unsalted
Filling
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar Light or dark based on preference
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder To enhance chocolate flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon Freshly ground for best flavor
Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Sift to avoid lumps
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream Substitute with milk for lighter option

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat milk to 110°F and add yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a mixer, combine flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter; mix on low until soft and slightly sticky.
  3. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1½ to 2 hours.
  4. Mix brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cinnamon in a bowl for the filling.
  5. Roll out dough to a rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle filling, roll tightly, and slice into pieces.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30-60 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes until golden. Cool slightly.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and cream for glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
