Preparation
- In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Optionally, fold in strawberry jam or fresh diced strawberries.
- Lay out wonton wrappers and place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold into a triangle, pressing to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Test with a small piece of wonton.
- Carefully fry 4 to 5 assembled wonton bites at a time for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove wontons and drain on paper towels, then let cool slightly.
Serving
- Serve the wonton bites warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with chocolate sauce.
