- Wash 2 cups of strawberries and cook in a saucepan with a splash of water over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until softened.
- Roll out homemade pie crust or place store-bought crust in a 9-inch pie dish, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine par-cooked strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Pour strawberry filling into the pie crust and cover with another crust if desired, sealing the edges and cutting slits in the top.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until golden brown, then let cool for 15 minutes.
